EIIO Wash off Healing Pack
Moreover jelly masks are always interesting and I wanted to get a calming product as my skin was behaving…
By the way, I guess the brand name (EIIO) stands for “Everyday It Is Okay!”
WHAT IS IT?
This is a calming and hydrating wash off green jelly mask.
HOW IT LOOKS, FEELS, SMELLS
The pack (i.e., mask) comes in a large frosted plastic jar that contains 100mL of product (3.38Fl.oz).
The jar itself comes in a elegant square cardboard box. In the box, you will also find a silcone spatula to apply and/or remove the mask. The packaging looks simple yet elegant. That’s something I appreciate very much.
The mask is a jelly wash off mask packed with dried herbs. Once you apply it on your skin, you can feel an hydrating sensation. You have to apply a 3-5mm layer, let it work its magic for 10-20min and then wash it off. You can either wash it off with luckwarm water using your hands or use the provided spatula to scrape it off. I prefer using my hands but it’s up to you.
Once the mask is removed, my skin is left smooth, hydrated and calmed. My skin looks more even and redness is reduced. I didn’t notice any brightening effect. The main effects are: skin is more even, hydrated and calmed.
By the way, when you dip the spatula into the mask, you get some big clumps of jelly. However the jelly can be spread easily in thin layers onto the skin. There is no risk of clumps falling off during your masking session.
There is an herbal scent but it’s not something very strong, it is on the light side. It disappears also quickly.
Water, Glycerin, 1,2-Hexanediol, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Butylene Glycol, Moringa Oleifera Seed Oil, Moringa Oleifera Seed Extract, Brassica Oleracea Italica (Broccoli) Extract, Houttuynia Cordata Powder, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Powder, Centella Asiatica Leaf Extract, Zingiber Officinale (Ginger) Root Extract, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Leaf Extract, Leuconostoc/Radish Root Ferment Filtrate, Trehalose, Betaine, Carbomer, Tromethamine, Xanthan Gum, Polyglyceryl-10 Myristate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Salvia Officinalis (Sage) Oil, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil, Geranium Maculatum Oil, Pogostemon Cablin Oil, Disodium EDTA.
This is a gel that is hydrating. It contains indeed glycerin, butylene glycol and treahlose, which are humectants, i.e. they attract and retain the moisture in the air nearby via absorption, drawing the water vapor into and/or beneath the skin surface. You also have a great amount of aloe leaf juice. Aloe is a great soothing ingredient and therefore it fits well with the calming claim of this mask.
In addition to aloe juice, you have lots of other plant extracts, such as moringa oil, moringa seed extract, broccoli, houttuynia cordata, tea tree, centella asiatica, and ginger.
Most of these plant extracts have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Tea tree is also antiseptic, just as peppermint. Peppermint and some of the fragrant extracts at the end of the ingredient list (sage, bergamot, geranium for example) can be irritant for people with extra sensitive skin. My skin is sensitive but this didn’t bother me.
