Milani Baked Highlighters Are the Best Drugstore Highlighter — Review

Whenever I apply highlighter, Rihanna’s popular song lyric, “Shine bright like a diamond,” starts playing in my head and serves as the nudge I need to keep adding the shimmer to my cheeks. I lean towards the bronze, yellow gold, or rose gold shades rather than champagnes or silvers, which are sometimes too light or ashy for my brown skin, but no matter which color I choose, I want my highlighter to be noticeable. 

Milani Baked Highlighters have the intense pay off I like in shades that flatter a range of skin tones. It comes in four shimmery hues: Dolce Perla (champagne pink), Champagne D’Oro (yellow gold), Rosa Italiana (rose gold), and Bronze Splendore (bronze). I was drawn to all the shades except for Dolce Perla, which swatched beautifully, but I felt it was a tad bit too light for me. To complete the soft makeup look I was aiming for, I decided to use a combination of Rosa Italiana and Bronze Splendore.

Typically, once my base and eyes are complete, I like to add highlighter to my cheekbones, focusing on blending it out, especially in the areas nearest to my outer eyebrow and the apples of my cheeks. (I love using E.L.F’s Highlighter Brush to get a highly pigmented but still diffused glow.)
