I decided to pick up the squalane-based lip mask soon after a friend waxed poetic about it, and well, I now understand why she was so eager to share her love for it. The ultra-thick-yet-somehow-non-sticky mask feels rich and luxurious on parched lips — but more importantly, it moisturizes them like nothing else. In addition to olive-derived squalane, it’s also made with soothing Japanese pear extract, vitamin and omega-rich camellia oil, and hydrating rose extract. There’s also some calming allantoin in there, too.
As you can clearly see in the before-and-after photos, my lips look significantly healthier with the treatment on. They’re shinier, smoother, much softer, and the fine lines I have are less prominent. Because it’s so moisturizing, it also has a slight plumping effect that’s temporary, of course, but nice nonetheless.
Another aspect I love about this formula is that it actually lasts. With other lip balms ad treatments, I often find myself reapplying several times a day, which isn’t the most ideal. Not with this one though. I smear it on in the morning before my coffee — and my lips still look lush and juicy by the time lunchtime rolls around.
All this to say: If you’ve been on the hunt for a lip treatment that repairs, hydrates, and look incredible, I’d highly recommend giving this one a shot. You can shop it for $28 on sephora.com.
